A Commerce City man will spend at least 20 years on probation after pleading guilty to charges of soliciting child prostitution.

An Eighth Judicial District Judge sentenced 40-year-old Daniel Goodfield to Sex Offender Intensive Supervised Probation with a six-year deferred sentence on charges of soliciting for child prostitution and cybercrime — both felonies.

A deferred sentence means if he doesn’t violate the terms of his probation, he won’t go to prison.

Goodfield was initially arrested in March 2024 during an undercover operation conducted by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, according to a Friday news release from the sheriff’s office.

During the operation, Goodfield attempted to solicit sex for money online with two girls, one of whom was a 14-year-old.

Goodfield later arrived at a hotel in Larimer County where undercover investigators were waiting, according to the release.

The suspect pleaded guilty to the two charges in October.

Because Goodfield was charged with a class 3 felony, he will remain on Colorado’s Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Program for at least 20 years.

“Accountability matters, especially when it comes to child predators,” Sheriff John Feyen said in the release. “We can’t control what happens downstream in the justice process, but the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will continue rooting out those who want to exploit kids in our community. If we can keep one child from being victimized, it’s worth our time, effort and resources.”
