Littleton man arrested after allegedly running over another driver
Rene Cooke, 41, was arrested after the Monday crash
The Littleton Police Department arrested a man for allegedly running over another driver after an argument.
Police arrested 41-year-old Rene Cooke on suspicion of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury following a crash on Monday evening, according to a news release.
Officers initially responded to the crash at the intersection of Broadway and West Powers — in northeast Littleton — around 8 p.m. A pedestrian was found in critical condition and was transported to a nearby hospital.
An investigation found that the victim had gotten into a “minor” crash with another vehicle. The crash then lead to an argument outside of the cars, in which the suspect allegedly got back into his vehicle and drove over the victim before fleeing the scene, according to police.
Through finding the vehicle, investigators were able to identify the driver, later identified as Cooke, and arrested him. The investigation remains ongoing.
The victim is in critical condition at a hospital, police said.
