Evergreen flasher sentenced to 8 years to life in prison
Glenn Braden, 21, pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and attempt to commit sexual assault earlier this year.
After exposing himself to 11 female hikers, an Evergreen man will spend eight years to life in prison.
First Judicial District Judge Meegan Miloud sentenced 21-year-old Glenn Braden to eight years to life in prison, a lifetime on the sex offender registration and $1,562 in restitution Thursday after pleading guilty to charges of attempted sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and indecent exposure, according to a news release from the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

The man was exposing himself to various women throughout trails at Flying J Ranch Park, Alderfer/Three Sisters Park and Genesee Mountain Park between April 3, 2023 and Aug. 8, 2023, according to the district attorney’s office.
“People come to Colorado for the mountains,” Deputy District Attorney Allie Galvan said in the news release. “Thousands of women across our state like to hike alone to enjoy the beauty of nature and soak up the mental health benefits of hiking,” further stating that Braden destroyed a basic freedom to enjoy the outdoors for so many women.
The string of attempted sexual assaults ended on Aug. 8, 2023, when Braden exposed himself to two separate, lone female hikers at Stapleton Park near Beaver Brook Trail.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Braden approached a hiker and exposed himself to her and began masturbating. The victim was able to run away and report the incident.
Braden then allegedly exposed himself to another woman a few moments later. He also tried to grab one of the women.
Following a two-and-a-half-hour search and a short foot chase, deputies were able to apprehend Braden.
Through investigations, detectives tied Braden to various other incidents involving exposing and groping, with one woman claiming that the man attempted to rip off her shirt.
The sexual incidents did not just begin in Colorado, though. During the hearing, Galvan noted that Braden had two similar incidents in South Carolina in 2019 and 2020, with the pattern of escalation growing over a period of years.
“He grew more brazen with each contact, and attempted to rip the clothing off one of his final victims,” Galvan said, according to the release.
In August, Braden pleaded guilty to the three charges, dropping the 17 charges initially pressed as part of the deal.
Braden admitted to purposefully exposing himself to women, according to the arrest affidavit. He admitted the women reacted with disgust, but he felt compelled to commit the sexual acts.
During the sentencing hearing, Braden addressed the court: “I take complete responsibility for every single action that occurred during this time.”
Braden also apologized to the victims and expressed an eagerness to start treatment and “commit to the time it takes to change my thoughts, behaviors and actions.”
