The Rapids host L.A. Galaxy at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park having lost five straight matches, including a 5-0 result in the MLS Cup opener.
The winner of the series meets Real Salt Lake or Minnesota United FC in a conference semifinal.
The Galaxy took a 3-1 win from Colorado at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in early October. The Rapids haven’t won a game since Dec. 21.
But Colorado has been solid in elimination games at Dick’s, winning all three of those contests this season. It has also been solid overall at home, earning a 10-4-3 record during MLS play.
Friday’s match will mark the first playoff home match for the Rapids since 2021.
