Gondola altercation leads to woman being arrested on domestic violence charges in Colorado
A scary situation unfolded in Summit County in recent days, ending with a woman being arrested after an altercation that started in a resort’s gondola line.
WARNING: This post is coverage of an incident involving alleged domestic violence.
According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies responded to the situation after a friend of the woman involved called law enforcement for help after the woman allegedly said she was upset and planned to commit suicide.
When deputies made contact with the woman, she said she wasn’t suicidal but did reference an altercation she had with her husband earlier that day. According to the woman, her husband reportedly pushed her while in line for the gondola at a local ski resort (which law enforcement did not identify in their brief on the incident). After the husband allegedly pushed the woman, she said she struck him on the top of his helmet with her skis (presumably now on the gondola, though this wasn’t directly detailed in the report). The husband is said to have then thrown her skis from the lift.
Deputies made contact with the husband via a phone call with deputies noting he wasn’t very cooperative. The man did, however, claim that he did not push his wife.
According to law enforcement, there were witnesses to the incident on the gondola. This ultimately led to the woman involved in the incident being arrested on charges of harassment and domestic violence. All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
