Motorcyclist dies after crash on I-225 in Denver

A motorcyclist died Saturday morning after a single-vehicle crash in south Denver. 

The Denver Police Department responded to a report of a crash at the ramp in south Denver connecting southbound Interstate 225 to southbound Interstate 25 — near the Hampden South neighborhood — around 3 a.m., according to a social media post from the department.

The department said that a motorcyclist was seriously injured and there would be delays in the area.

Around 7:30 a.m., the motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene, according to a subsequent post. The ramp was then reopened around 10 a.m. 

The department did not provide further details about the crash and whether the other driver was injured as of Saturday afternoon. The identity of the dead driver will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner following investigation.
