Nikola Jokic remains questionable for Sunday’s game in Memphis

Mavericks Nuggets Basketball

The Denver Nuggets could very well be without Nikola Jokic for a second straight game.

Jokic, was not with the team Friday in New Orleans, is once against listed as questionable due to personal reasons ahead of Sunday’s 4 p.m. tipoff in Memphis.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone is expected to rejoin the team for Sunday’s game after staying back in Denver to watch his daughter’s Mountain Vista team play in the state volleyball tournament.

The rest of Denver’s injury report largely remains unchanged. Vlatko Cancar, who returned Friday after missing time with an ankle sprain, is probable. Aaron Gordon and DaRon Holmes II remain out, while Spencer Jones and Jalen Pickett have been assigned to Denver’s G League affiliate, Grand Rapids Gold.

Memphis will be without its best player. Ja Morant has been ruled out due to right hip subluxation and pelvic muscle strains. Second-year forward GG Jackson (right fifth metatarsal repair) and rookie Cam Spencer (right ankle sprain) are also out for the Grizzlies, while Marcus Smart is doubtful with an illness.
