Blind man reportedly assaulted while walking dog on trail in Colorado

A blind man is said to have fallen victim to assault on a Colorado trail earlier this week.

According to the Boulder Police Department, the blind victim was walking his dog along Fourmile Canyon Creek Trail with his dog “clearly marked” as a service dog when the incident occurred.

The suspect in the case reportedly struck the man in the shoulder and called him a “schmuck.”

The victim in the case was able to snap a photo of a potential suspect by using a device called a screen reader. The victim also asked the man to remain on scene as he contacted police, but the suspect fled.

In the image captured by the victim, the potential suspect was also accompanied by a small white dog.

Authorities have asked for anyone who recognizes the suspect or his dog to contact police at 303-413-7332.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
