Denver weather: Temperatures begin climbing Friday into the 40s for highs

On Friday it’ll still be cool, but heading into the weekend things start warming more.

High pressure starts building over Colorado Sunday, and with it temperatures will climb slowly.

Denver residents can expect sunny skies Friday, with a high near 47, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South winds to blow around 8 mph become north northwest in the afternoon.

“Winds will increase over the mountains tonight, with gusts up to 60 mph over the ridges and higher east slopes of the Front Range overnight and into Saturday morning,” the NWS said.

Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 19. South southwest wind around 7 mph.

Continued warming happens over the weekend and into December, with highs into the 50s on Monday.

Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 48. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 49. Light and variable wind.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 52.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 57.
