Investigators have arrested a man accused of killing a woman whose remains were found in Boulder County in September.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Gaudy Garcia Pina, a citizen of Venezuela who had been living in Denver. A release said she was reported missing from Denver on July 15.
A suspect, 31-year-old Andres Eloy Martinez Perez, was arrested on Friday. The sheriff’s office said he and the victim were in a relationship when she disappeared.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said on Sept. 24, they responded to a call about human remains in the 1000 block of Blue Mountain Road, northwest of Lyons in unincorporated Boulder County. They determined that the unidentified person’s death was suspicious.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office was able to estimate the age of the victim, according to a release, along with physical characteristics, which investigators from the sheriff’s office used to begin researching missing persons reports across the state.
