Alexander Edwards [email protected]
A bill that would to ban the sale of flavored tobacco products within the City and County of Denver will be introduced for a first reading Monday.
If approved, the measure would amend Denver Municipal Code, making it illegal for any retail tobacco store to “sell, offer for sale, give, barter, deliver or furnish any flavored tobacco product or samples of such products.”
Denver’s Downtown Development Authority (DDDA) will seek approval for its new expanded boundaries. The DDDA aims to stimulate economic growth and create a vibrant, family-friendly downtown using public investments.
The historic Currie/Dryer Cottage located at 4450 Tennyson St. in the Berkeley neighborhood is on the agenda for Monday to be designated for preservation by the Denver Historical Landmark Commission. Built in 1909, the early 20th-century alley house is an exceptional example of the distinct architectural style.
During the 5:30 p.m. session, council will hold three public hearings that focus on various district-specific and citywide initiatives.
