Broncos CB Riley Moss still not practicing ahead of playoff-critical Colts game
Denver hosts Indianapolis in Week 15 of NFL season
ENGLEWOOD — Broncos secondary depth will likely be tested against the Colts.
Cornerback Riley Moss did not practice Wednesday or Thursday while recovering from an MCL injury suffered in Week 12 against the Raiders. It puts Moss in danger of missing a second consecutive game.
The Broncos (8-5) host the Colts (6-7) on Sunday afternoon at Empower Field. Denver’s playoff odds increase to 91% with a victory, per NFL.com.
Last week, in a 41-32 home win over Cleveland, the Browns targeted reserve cornerback Levi Wallace with great success. Starting safety Brandon Jones also exited the game with an injury (abdomen).
Jones was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday.
Estime’s focus
Rookie running back Audric Estime explained his focus over the bye week.
“I definitely tried to get off my feet and tried to get away from the physical aspect,” Estime told the Denver Gazette after practice on Thursday at Broncos Park. “Mentally, I still tried to be in it. So, when it was time to come back to work, there wouldn’t be any downfalls.”
Estime, a fifth-round draft pick (Notre Dame), is still searching for a consistent role in Denver’s offense. He recorded just three carries in each of the last two games.
The biggest lesson so far in his rookie season?
“Don’t make the same mistake twice,” Estime said. “The good ones in this league learn and improve from their mistakes.”
Colts QB Richardson: ‘Try not to be Superman all the time’
Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson spoke with local Indianapolis media on Thursday.
The second-year pro was asked to describe his biggest growth as a player since entering the NFL.
“For one, try not to be Superman all the time,” Richardson said. “I’ve always been able to create big plays and that’s kind of been a thing of mine that I always wanted to do as a player. And understanding as a quarterback, sometimes you need those Superman plays. Sometimes you just have to be just a regular guy and go out there and just make it work for your teammates.”
