Man sentenced to life in prison in connection with fatal shooting

Patrick Plasencio

A man will spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in a shooting that took place in Lakewood last year.

On Nov. 18, a Jefferson County jury convicted Patrick Plasencio on the following charges:

  • First-degree murder – after deliberation
  • Attempted murder – after deliberation
  • Prohibited use of a weapon
  • Prohibited use of a weapon – drunk with a gun

Shortly before 3 a.m. on April 30, 2023, agents from the Lakewood Police Department responded to a shooting at a home in the 1200 block of South Marshall Street. When they arrived, they found Amanda Bobian’s body on the front porch.

Bobian was 22 years old. She was a mother of a two-year-old. Her parents said they miss her sense of humor and the joy she brought to the family.

“She was meant to be a mother so she was an amazing mom and loved her son, like, immensely,” Rachel Guerra, Amanda’s mom said. “To know we have to go through life without her is hard.”

“Its hard not to think about the day that we got the news,” Diego Bobian, Amanda’s father, added. “It’s a different life we live now and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody.”

Two brothers, Frankie and Patrick Plasencio, were arrested in Bobian’s death. According to an arrest affidavit, the brothers and another man had been asked to leave the residence due to an altercation. They went outside and the altercation continued on the front porch, the document says.
