Reward offered after 7-year-old shot and killed at tribal reservation in Colorado

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced that a $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect related to a case involving the shooting of a minor on a Native American reservation in Colorado.

A federal arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Jeremiah Hight, who is a suspect in the early morning December 11 shooting death of a 7-year-old child in Towaoc on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation.

Hight is said to have ties to Monument Valley in the Four Corners area. Authorities have said he might be armed and “has proven he can be dangerous.”

Hight is described as a Native American male with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s six feet tall and weighs about 400 pounds with tattoos on his right leg, left arm, right arm, right shoulder, neck, and left shoulder. He is also said to have a pierced left ear and a scar on his chest.

In a report from Colorado Public Radio, it was noted that details related to what led up to the shooting weren’t released, but that the shooting was “targeted at the residence.”

The FBI has requested that anyone with information related to the case or the whereabouts of Jeremiah Hight contact their tipline at 800-225-5324 to make a report. Tips can also be submitted online on the FBI website.

All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
