Authorities find vehicle connected to El Paso County missing persons investigation

Law enforcement in Hattiesburg, Miss., found the 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck connected to a missing persons case in El Paso County early Saturday morning, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

But investigators are still searching for two people they described as persons of interest in the case.

During a call for service on Dec. 19, deputies found large quantities of blood throughout a residence in the 1800 block of Pima Drive in Cimarron Hills, an unincorporated area of El Paso County.

Deputies identified two men possibly associated with the house and the blood as Johnny Rankin Morris, 46, and Stephen Walker, 37. This discovery led to deputies creating missing person reports for the two.

The case became a death investigation on Dec. 24 when a “check the welfare” call came into the Park County Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Campfire Road in unincorporated Park County.

Deputies from the Park County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit searched the residence and discovered a deceased man, later identified as 65-year-old Timmy L. Huston.

Law enforcement said in a news release that the known occupant of the residence in Park County had indirect ties to the Dec. 19 missing persons case in El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office then started looking for a blue 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck, now found, that they believed was en route to Mississippi.

Authorities are still searching for Hailey Cole, 43, and Morris in the Mississippi area, as they are both people of interest in the case.

Law enforcement is asking anyone with information about the case to call 719-390-5555 or 911.

Both Morris and Cole are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen. If spotted, call 911 to reach the local law enforcement. Walker is still considered a missing person, as opposed to the other two.

• Morris is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has short-cut brown and gray hair, blue eyes and a tattoo on his right ear.

• Cole is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds and has brown medium-length hair and blue eyes.

• Walker is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his right arm.
