1 dead, 1 injured after Denver crash

The Denver Police Department responded to a two-car crash early Wednesday morning that resulted in the death of one of the motorists. 

Officers responded to the crash around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of South Sheridan Boulevard — in the Mar Lee neighborhood near West Mississippi Avenue — ultimately closing South Sheridan Boulevard in both directions, according to a social media post from the department.

Two drivers were involved in the crash and were both transported to a nearby hospital. One of the drivers was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police did not say when exactly the roadway reopened following the investigation.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner following investigation.
