Denver Nuggets update Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon’s availability ahead of Mavericks game

Denver's game in Dallas on Sunday could be short on star power. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon on listed on the Nuggets' injury report, while Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will miss the game for the Mavericks

The Nuggets’ injury report ahead of Sunday’s game in Dallas was two steps forward, one step back.

After being listed as questionable with an illness before Denver’s last few games, Nikola Jokic is listed as probable to play against the Mavericks. He not only played 38 minutes in Friday’s win over Brooklyn at Ball Arena but posted another triple-double. He said postgame that he was feeling better by the day after the game, though he admitted the first half was pretty rough.

Aaron Gordon is also in a better spot than he was Friday. After being listed as out for the previous eight games with a right calf strain, Gordon was listed as doubtful for Friday’s game. He ultimately missed a ninth game, but he’s improved to questionable for Sunday’s game.

Jamal Murray didn’t play the second half of Friday’s game with what the team called left knee soreness. He’s listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with left knee inflammation. Murray has missed six games this season due to a concussion and hamstring and ankle issues. Malone said following Friday’s game that he didn’t believe it ways anything serious but added that knee is going to flare up from time to time. It’s the same knee Murray had ACL repair surgery on in 2021.

Vlatko Cancar and DaRon Holmes II remain out for the Nuggets, while PJ Hall and Spencer Jones are on G League assignments.

Dallas is listing Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum as out for Sunday’s 1 p.m. tipoff.

The two teams play again Tuesday in Dallas.
