Carrie Underwood to perform at Trump’s inauguration ceremony

Country singer Carrie Underwood is set to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony next week, sources familiar with plans confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Underwood will perform alongside the Armed Forces chorus and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, according to a copy of the inauguration programming obtained by the Washington Examiner. The performance will come just before Trump is set to be sworn in.

Another notable name included in the inauguration is Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who will administer the vice presidential oath of office to J.D. Vance, a source told the Washington Examiner. That oath will take place before Underwood performs, according to the event programming.

Trump’s oath will be administered by Chief Justice John Roberts, who swore Trump in for his first inauguration ceremony in 2017. Justice Clarence Thomas administered the oath for then-Vice President Mike Pence eight years ago.

Underwood’s performance comes after several high-profile celebrities refused to perform at Trump’s inauguration, such as Celine Dion, Elton John, and John Legend.
