Nikola Jokic, Nathan MacKinnon earn top honors from Colorado Sports Hall of Fame

Nuggets star Nikola Jokic and Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon, who were voted Most Valuable Player in the NBA and NHL, respectively, were named Pro Athletes of the Year by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.
The organization’s 60th induction and awards banquet is scheduled for April 9.
Voting concluded Tuesday. University of Colorado football star Travis Hunter, who won the program’s second Heisman Trophy, and CSU Pueblo’s Alisha Little were named College Athletes of the Year. De Beque’s Scottie Vines and Valor Christian’s Chloe Elarton were named High School Athletes of the Year.
The Colorado Christian men’s golf team was named King of the Hill after winning the the NCAA Division II national championship. Jeff Clark, a competitor and leader at Special Olympics Colorado, will be awarded the Athlete with Disabilities Award.
The annual banquet, which is held at the Hilton Denver City Center, also will honor Hall of Fame inductees Mikaela Shiffrin, Troy Tulowitzki, Larry Brown, Simon Fletcher, Theodore “Bubbles” Anderson and Lisa Van Goor.
