It’s all about Colorado’s artists as Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities opens the juried Art of the State 2025. Every third year the galleries’ 10,000 square feet are filled with the best in Colorado contemporary art. Starting Monday, worldwide artist teams will be in Breckenridge carving 25-ton, 12-foot-tall blocks of snow during the 34th International Snow Sculpture Championships. Watch them create until the following Friday when the winner will be named at Riverwalk Center. Timed viewing is Saturday and includes People Choice awards. Coming up Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. Marade, parade, march and bike ride, as Denver honors the civil rights leader. Opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. at the MLK statue in City Park. The parade is 10:45 a.m. from Civic Center Park where it also ends with closing ceremonies at noon. At 2 p.m., the Legacy Bike Ride is a 5-mile loop starting and ending in the park and riding by Black history landmarks.
