Police found a man shot to death inside of a Westminster hotel Friday evening. 

The Westminster Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the La Quinta Inn near 120th Avenue and Delaware Street — right off of Interstate 25 north of Northglenn — around 9 p.m., according to a press release from the department. 

Upon arrival, officers found a dead man inside of one of the rooms with an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Preliminary investigations found that the suspect fled the scene on foot and knew the victim. As of Saturday morning, the police department has not found and arrested the suspect.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office following investigations.
