Police: Pedestrian killed in train crash in northeast Denver

A man is dead after a train hit a pedestrian in northeast Denver on Monday afternoon, causing road closures and delays in the area, according to Denver police.
The crash, which was reported around 3:28 p.m., happened near Smith Road and Quebec Street, according to police. A Denver police spokesperson said the crash involved a Regional Transportation District train.
The area is located along the RTD commuter rail A line between Denver International Airport and Union Station.
The victim appears to be a man, the police spokesperson said.
Authorities have closed northbound Quebec Street ramp to Smith Road is closed, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
