The Colorado State Patrol is asking witnesses to come forward after a vehicle flew through a fence and landed in a backyard in Jefferson County, killing the driver.

CSP said that alcohol was suspected to be involved in the single-vehicle crash that happened at around 6 p.m. Saturday near South Simms Street and West Belleview Avenue in the Littleton area.

A spokesperson said that a 2013 Cadillac was traveling northbound on South Simms Street south of West Belleview at around 6 p.m. when it weaved across southbound lanes onto the sidewalk, blew through a private fence, and then struck a tree.

Anyone who was in the area and saw a crash between 6 p.m. and 6:11 p.m. is asked to call CSP dispatch at 303-239-4501. Callers should leave their name and contact information and an investigator will contact them.
