A victim in a shooting last month was pronounced dead Wednesday, turning an attempted murder investigation into a homicide, Denver police announced on social media platform X Monday morning.

Denver police first alerted the shooting on the evening of Feb. 3, saying on social media that investigators were looking into a shooting in the 1100 block of East Colfax Avenue, several blocks northwest of Cheesman Park.

Police later announced on Feb. 19 that the suspect was identified as 56-year-old Timothy Mcglothin, who was being held on investigation of attempted murder.

On Monday, police said on social media that the victim was pronounced deceased and “this is now a homicide.”

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the victim as 46-year-old Leon Jackson in a news release Monday. His cause and manner of death were homicide and gunshot wound.
