Denver weather: Sunny skies return Wednesday ahead of end-of-week snow
Denverites will see a break in the action Wednesday as the sun returns and warms the city back into the 50s.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies today, with a high near 54, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. East southeast winds to blow between 3 to 8 mph.
“Light snow in the mountains lingers into the early to mid morning hours before ending,” the NWS said. “Any additional accumulation this morning is expected to be light and less than an inch. Snow returns to the mountains tonight with 2 to 5 inches possible over the far northern mountains with up to 3 inches for the mountains along I-70 and north into southern Grand County.”
Tonight expect cloudy conditions, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 32. South southeast winds to blow between 5 to 8 mph become light and variable after midnight.
Snow chances on Thursday and Friday keep the city wet and snowy heading into the weekend.
A shift back to warmer temperatures on Saturday and Sunday is forecast.

Thursday: A chance of rain and snow after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Light and variable wind becoming north northwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Friday: Snow likely, mainly after 11 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 50.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 63.
