Well-known podcast revisits disappearance of Crestone woman in new episodes

Fans of True Crime podcasts are sure to recognize the show ‘Up and Vanished.’ Hosted by Payne Lindsey, the show got quite a bit of mainstream attention after being credited for reigniting interest in a cold case out of Georgia after about 12 years, with that case subsequently resulting in an arrest. Those who stuck around for the second season of the show are also likely to remember that the show headed to Colorado next, launching a second season related to a now-infamous case out of Crestone in August of 2018 before revisiting the case again last month.

The second season of Up and Vanished covered the case of Kristal Reisigner, a 29-year-old who disappeared in July of 2016. After Reisigner’s disappearance, speculation ran wild, with some suggesting she was drugged by a local man and others claiming to have spotted her at a Full Moon Drum Circle after she had been reported missing. At time of publishing, the case remains unsolved.

The initial season contained 12 episodes exploring Kristal’s disappearance, along with seven supplementary episodes. And while no new episodes of the popular show related to Kristal were published for several years, that changed on February 26, when the first of at least four new Kristal-related episodes was published.

Those episodes can be listened to for free on Spotify, but make sure to check out the full season from 2018 first if you haven’t already. Be warned – the podcast tells a heart-wrenching and tragic story. Listener discretion is advised.
