Registration opens for ‘ski ballet’ event set to take place at Colorado resort

Monarch Mountain has opened registration for their upcoming ‘Ski Ballet on Freeway’ event.

Set to take place on April 5, kicking off at 11 a.m. on Freeway Trail, the event is sure to be entertaining for participants and spectators, alike. The event aims to bring the “art of ski ballet” back during an end-of-season celebration, with participants dancing, spinning, and gliding their way down the slope to the music of their choice.

Participants will be judged on style, technical execution, and flair, able to compete solo ($35 registration fee) or as a team of two to three ($45 registration fee). Proceeds of the event will support Monarch Mountain Community Outreach Fund and KHEN Community Radio.

Costumes and choreography are encouraged for participants of the Ski Ballet on Freeway event.

Those looking to brush up on their ski ballet skills before registering can sign-up for a ski ballet clinic at Monarch Mountain that’s scheduled for March 30 at 1 p.m. Those who pay for a spot in this clinic will get their registration fee for the Ski Ballet on Freeway event waived.
