ESPN Bet releases total win odds for Broncos 2025 season | Sports Business Insider

The Denver Gazette sports business insider is a reader’s guide to understanding the influence of money, politics and power behind their favorite leagues, teams and players:

Sports business insider: ESPN Bet set the Denver Broncos over/under for total wins at 9.5 in the 2025 NFL season.

Short version

The Broncos are projected by ESPN Bet to maintain success after going 10-7 last season and falling to the Bills in an AFC wild card playoff game, 31-7. Denver’s 2025 schedule will be released in May. Below are confirmed opponents.

Home (9): Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers, Jaguars, Titans, Cowboys, Giants, Bengals and Packers.

Away (8): Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers, Texans, Colts, Eagles, Commanders and Jets.

Long version

The Broncos far exceeded outside expectations in 2024. Their over/under win total was 5.5. Denver broke that mark in Week 11 against the Falcons.

How did it happen?

Credit their success to the quick ascension of rookie quarterback Bo Nix, a mostly dominant defense, plus ongoing momentum under coach Sean Payton and the Walton-Penner ownership group. The Broncos finished with their first 10-win season since 2015 and broke a nearly decade-long playoff drought.

Great success yields great expectations. But their path, especially in the AFC West, is difficult in 2025.

ESPN Bet set the over/under wins for the Chiefs at 11.5, the Chargers at 10.5 and the Raiders at 5.5.

The Broncos also face the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles (11.5) and upstart Commanders (10.5) — both on the road. They host two of the NFL’s better quarterbacks in Joe Burrow (Bengals, 10.5) and Jordan Love (Packers, 9.5).

Denver must show continued improvement in 2025 to hit the over for total wins against quality opponents.

Key context

The Broncos bolstered their roster with several key additions in free agency.

They addressed shortcomings up the middle defensively by signing inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga after both starred on the 49ers’ top-ranked 2022 defense. Denver also gave Nix a proven weapon on offense by landing veteran tight end Evan Engram from the Jaguars. All three players figure to be key pieces of the 2025 Broncos.

Looking ahead

The Broncos have several roster needs — especially at running back — ahead of the NFL draft on April 24-26.
