Aurora fatal shooting stemmed from possible domestic violence, police say

Aurora police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old man that may have stemmed from a domestic violence incident, according to a department notification Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the shooting, in the 10700 block of East Exposition Avenue, in the Expo Park neighborhood just north of Mississippi Avenue, around 9:15 a.m. Friday, according to the notice.

At the scene, officers found a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound. They tried to revive him until medical responders arrived. He was taken to the hospital where he later died, the notice said.

A 37-year-old woman was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim. The woman on scene is not being identified at this time.

Police said the shooting stemmed from a possible domestic violence incident, the notice said, and the investigation is ongoing.
