Former Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony reportedly headed to Hall of Fame
Carmelo Anthony got the call.
The Nuggets’ selection with the third overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection, according to an ESPN report.
Anthony, who played parts of eight seasons in Denver, finished his career as a 10-time All-Star. He made six All-NBA teams and was named to the NBA’s 75th anniversary team. He also won an NCAA championship in his lone year at Syracuse and won three Olympic gold medals.
The 6-foot-7 forward established himself as one of his era’s most dangerous scorers in Denver. He was the league’s scoring champion in the 2012-13 season with the New York Knicks.
His career continued with the Thunder, Rockets, Trail Blazers and Lakers before he played his last NBA game in the 2021-22 season.
The class of 2025 will be formally announced Saturday, and the enshrinement ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 6 in Springfield, Mass.
