The Betts family is having a week for the record books.
Grandview High outgoing senior Sienna Betts earned MVP honors in the McDonald’s All-American Game Tuesday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The UCLA recruit and three-time CHSAA state champ had 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the West’s 104-82 win over the East.
Older sister Lauren on Sunday led UCLA to its first women’s Final Four with a 72-65 over LSU in a regional final. The Bruins will play UConn in a national semifinal Friday in Tampa, Fla.
Also on Wednesday, Lauren Betts was named Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year after setting a Big Ten record with 99 blocks through 33 games.
Sienna Betts is believed to be the first Colorado high school player to win the MVP award at the McDonald’s All-American game since Highlands Ranch’s Ann Strother in 2002.
