One person died and three were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 eastbound in Commerce City on Tuesday night.

The crash, which police first announced on X at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, shut down I-270 eastbound at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 for about five hours into the night, Commerce City Police confirmed Wednesday morning.

Police currently don’t have any additional information as to how many vehicles were involved in the crash or the full extent of the injuries sustained by those involved.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing as of Wednesday morning, police said. There is no other available information about the incident at this time.
