John Kennedy trolls ‘leader of the Democratic Party’ AOC with shampoo bottles comment

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) questioned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) mental prowess as she takes on a growing leadership role in the Democratic Party.

During a Fox News appearance on Tuesday, Kennedy slammed Ocasio-Cortez when asked about his thoughts about Democratic leadership, suggesting that she was ill-equipped to steer her party to success.

“I consider Congresswoman Cortez to be the leader of the Democratic Party,” he said. “I think she’s the reason there are directions on a shampoo bottle.”

Kennedy continued, “The Republican Party’s plan for dealing” with the Democrats’ new leader is Operation Let Her Speak.”

His comments come as Ocasio-Cortez, 35, has emerged as one of the Democratic Party’s most vocal leaders seeking to shake up messaging and strategy in the wake of the Left’s bruising losses in the 2024 elections.

A CNN poll conducted last month suggested Ocasio-Cortez best reflects the Democratic Party’s principles.

Ocasio-Cortez’s positions have put her at odds with aging but influential members in her party, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whom some Democrats say should step aside to make way for a new generation of leaders.

Despite her growing influence in the Democratic Party, Kennedy and other Republicans have largely dismissed Ocasio-Cortez. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) mocked her “tiny little brain” during an interview last November.
