Academy Award nominee arrested after reports of “unruly skier” at American resort

A Hollywood star who has been appearing in movies and television shows since 1994 was arrested at an American ski resort in recent days due to alleged disorderly conduct and alleged possession of a controlled substance.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Haley Joel Osment – perhaps best known for his childhood role in The Sixth Sense, which was followed by a long list of roles in movies and television shows and a lengthy voice acting career – was taken into custody by law enforcement at California’s Mammoth Mountain ski resort on April 8 following reports of an “unruly skier.” Further reporting from SnowBrains indicates that the scene unfolded in the Mill Base Lodge parking lot.

The SnowBrains report also indicated that the unidentified substance that Osment is alleged to have possessed is presumed to be cocaine, with lab tests pending.

Osment was released from custody shortly after being booked.

This isn’t the first time Osment has made headlines in recent months, with prior coverage of Osment related to the loss of his home in the Eaton Fire.

Osment became one of the youngest Academy Award nominees ever upon getting a nod for his role in The Sixth Sense when he was just 11 years old.

All crimes that Osment has been accused of are merely allegations. Osment is to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
