Denver-area parents Candace and Brandon saw executive actions and other decisions in the early days of President Trump’s second term as an existential threat to their trans child. The pair decided to move to New Zealand to ensure access to gender-affirming care and state-backed gender identity for their child and to avoid other potential persecution. The pair have started a GoFundMe to help alleviate some financial burden with moving a family of four abroad.
