News Nuggets: Shape future of Park Hill Park Open Space
Denver residents are invited to enjoy free outdoor games and activities from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday as the city kicks off the Park Hill Park Vision Framework planning process at City of Axum Park, 3200 N. Birch St.
Take in the fun with races, basketball, slacklining, rock climbing and more, suitable for all ages — and the opportunity to share feedback on the future of the Park Hill Park Open Space.

Free mulch and compost
Denverites interested in free mulch can pick it up from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the Denver Wastewater Management Central Platte Campus — enter at 2000 W. 3rd Ave., the Cherry Creek Transfer Station at 7301 E. Jewell Ave. — enter on E. Jewell Ave., and at the Havana Nursery at 10450 Smith Road. The free compost is available only at the City and County of Denver Central Platte Campus at 1271 W. Bayaud Ave.
Proof of Denver residency is required, and commercial operators are not allowed to take mulch.

City improves property research website
The City and County of Denver has launched a new version of denvergov.org/property, an online research platform that allows residents to view details of approximately 240,000 properties throughout the city and county. This new website is a joint effort between Denver’s Technology Services and the Department of Finance.
Mini-grant for sustainability
Certifiably Green Denver, the City and County of Denver’s small business sustainability navigation program, has opened applications for its 2025 small business support grants. Small businesses may access up to $10,000 in upfront funding to meet sustainability goals and improve operations.
To qualify, small businesses or nonprofits must have a physical location in the City and County of Denver. Preference will be given to businesses located in a Denver Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization (NEST) neighborhood. Denver youth with a summer job may receive a $500 bonus
Denver youth between the ages of 14 and 21 are encouraged to apply for a $500 bonus when they have completed 100 hours of work between April 1 and Aug. 15, 2025, through the Mayor’s YouthWorks Initiative. Eligible youth must have a summer job or job offer at the time of application.
