Spring hygiene drive continues through May 16

The #BeAGiver Spring Showers Hygiene Drive takes place every spring to collect hygiene items for customers served by the Denver Human Services (DHS) GIVE Center. The center sees thousands of people each year experiencing emergency crises. In 2024, the center supplied more than 30,000 essential hygiene items like shampoo, toothpaste and bar soap provided by local donors.

DHS is collecting unopened, unexpired hygiene items (travel size preferred) such as body wipes, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, laundry soap, shaving cream, razors, maxi pads, tampons and toilet paper.

Drop-off locations can be found by visiting www.denvergov.org and searching for “Spring Showers Hygiene Drive.” For more information, call (720) 944-4483 or email [email protected].

City updates street homelessness dashboard

Denver has launched an updated online tool designed to track the city’s progress in bringing the homeless indoors and supporting Mayor Mike Johnston’s long-term housing solutions. The new iteration emphasizes efforts such as street engagement, early intervention, family shelters, and the Roads to Recovery initiative, which connects individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges to treatment and rehabilitation services.

To view the new dashboard, visit www.denvergov.org and search “citywide progress report.”
