PHOTOS: Bison roam the prairie at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge

Birthing season is underway at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in northeast Denver, where at least 31 Bison have been born as of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, according to wildlife officials.

Wildlife officials say the calves come before the mating season, or rut, which usually takes place each year from June to September.
