Memorial Day closures around metro Denver
Timothy Hurst, The Gazette
Denver area residents will be breaking out their grills and enjoying some extra sunshine on Monday for Memorial Day.
City offices and state agencies will be celebrating the federal holiday as well, as most will be closed for the day.
But what will not be closed is street parking, which will be free throughout the city for the holiday. Additionally, the Regional Transportation District’s trains and bussess will be operating on its holiday schedule.
State and county parks, as well as campgrounds and boat ramps will remain open, but all Colorado Parks and Wildlife Offices will be closed.
The closures will include all motor vehicle offices and workforce centers, as well as political offices such as City Council and the mayor’s office and legal offices such as the clerk and recorder, the auditor and all county and state-operated courts.
Additionally, libraries and recreation centers will be closed as well.
The Office of the Medical Examiner, Denver Elections Division, Taxpayer Service Center and Wastewater Management Building will also close Monday, as well as the departments of building and zoning, transportation, and excise and licenses.
Agencies that are open 24 hours, including Denver International Airport and emergency services like Denver Police Department, will remain open with full operations.
People can check county websites for specific closure information.
The next federal holiday will be Independence Day on July 4.
