Discover the soundtrack of summer — hidden in the forest
Set out alongside fellow adventurers — nature lovers, music fans, and curious travelers alike — as you pedal your way to Solstice & Strings: A Rail Biking Concert with Revolution Rail in South Fork. This exclusive open-air performance takes place in a forest clearing within the Coller Wildlife Area, in the heart of the Rio Grande’s stunning backcountry.

Ride Into Awe with Rev Rail: A Journey by Rail Bike to a Private Concert
An unparalleled solstice adventure begins in the heart of South Fork, Colorado, where riders gather at the Revolution Rail station for a journey unlike any other mountain peaks. The scenic town in southern Colorado sits at 8,200 feet at the confluence of the South Fork and Rio Grande rivers and offers views of the majestic San Juan Mountains.
From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed not just by guides — but by storytellers. With backgrounds in everything from rafting and snowboarding to theater and education, they bring the route to life through history, folklore, and vivid local insight, and will prepare you for the 20-minute journey to a hidden forest clearing.
Pedal at your own pace and soak in breathtaking, photo-worthy scenery along the way — so be sure to bring your camera (along with insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, outerwear and clothing layers)!
Rail biking through the wilderness is “soft adventure” for all ages and abilities, with mostly flat terrain. Each two-person or four-person rail bike, manufactured in Vermont with a quiet ride in mind, is equipped with adjustable seatbelts, a two-to-one gear ratio for easy pedaling, and baskets to stow your gear. Expect panoramic views of towering pines and Rio Grande— and maybe a prairie dog or two to pop up en route to the pop-up concert! If you’re traveling solo, you will be matched with other guests for the journey.
What better way to greet the longest day of the year, welcome the warm weather and begin the summer season?

Nature’s Stage: Music in the Forest
Once you reach the clearing, the forest opens to reveal an intimate, open-air picnic area surrounded by towering trees and stillness — until the music begins. Listen to married musicians — harpist Grace Browning and cellist Benjamin Krug — perform a wide range of musical compositions, from classical Bach to English rock band Radiohead, creating a sonic landscape as varied and soulful as the one you just pedaled through.
You will enjoy a curated, fresh, perfectly paired gourmet charcuterie box (gluten-free and vegan options available), from Tiny Timbers Coffee Bistro. Bring the beverage(s) of your choice, as well as blankets and chairs for maximum comfort and convenience. Eat family-style at picnic tables, getting acquainted with your fellow music lovers and outdoor adventurers!
Space is limited for this bucket-list worthy solstice experience, so be sure to get your ticket(s) early!
If you’re looking for a moment that blends nature, movement, and music into one unforgettable evening — this is it.
Golden Hour, Platinum Memories
There are two departures for Solstice & Strings: A Rail Biking Concert — one at 5:00 pm another at 7:30 p.m. Whether you prefer the soft glow of early evening or the magic of twilight descending through the trees, each ride offers its own unforgettable version of the longest day of the year. It is the day of the year designed for maximum wonder.
June 21 isn’t just a date — it’s a moment of perfect alignment between sun and earth, movement and music, stillness and sound. It’s the kind of experience that lingers long after the last note fades and the forest goes quiet again.
This is a concert unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.
Let the solstice be your invitation to celebrate the summer season’s arrival in a way that only Colorado can offer.

Purpose Meets Performance
Solstice & Strings is more than a concert — it’s a reflection of Rev Rail’s core value that the outdoors and the arts should be open to everyone. The organization is committed to environmental stewardship and creating opportunities for people to engage with nature in meaningful, memorable ways.
In keeping with that spirit, Rev Rail will be contributing part of the proceeds of each $100 ticket to the Creede Musical Arts Collective, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to music education and performance in rural Colorado.
“When we bring people into the outdoors and into community through music, something bigger happens,” said Robert Harte, Founder & CEO of Revolution Rail. “Solstice & Strings invites people to reconnect — with nature, with music, and with one another. This event is about creating those bigger moments, and giving back in the process.”
Creede Musical Arts Collective Co-founder Megan Marino, reflecting on the synergy between the two organizations, said, “We believe that music should be afforded the same accessibility as the outdoors … and that there is music in the sounds people encounter every day, everywhere. How wonderful that Rev Rail riders will be able to hear so much ‘natural music’ — the sounds of their rail bikes on the track, the trees swaying in a nice breeze, happy conversations — as well as the music of Grace and Ben.”
