Two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning has officially joined the ownership group of Denver’s National Women’s Soccer League franchise, the club announced Tuesday.
“It’s a real honor to be part of something so meaningful to the Colorado community,” Manning said in a news release. “I’m proud to support the growth of women’s sports and excited to help build a club that our city and our state can rally behind.”
Denver NWSL made the announcement on social media Tuesday with a comedic video featuring Manning and brother, Eli.
Ahead of the club’s debut in 2026, the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee joins investors Ariel Investments’ Project Level, Jon-Erik Borgen, Kaia Borgen Moritz, Neelima Joshi, Dhiren Jhaveri, Molly Coors and Mikaela Shiffrin with the ownership group led by controlling investor Robert Cohen.
“Peyton’s legacy as a champion and a leader is second to none,” Cohen said in a news release. “His impact on Colorado sports is unmatched, and we’re incredibly proud to have him as a partner. He brings passion, insight, and deep local roots — all of which will help us shape the future of Denver NWSL.”
The announcement came less than a week after veteran soccer executive Curt Johnson was announced as Denver NWSL’s general manager.
Denver NWSL announced in March its plans to build a state-of-the-art performance center in Centennial as well as a stadium and entertainment district in Denver. It’s set to open in 2028.
