Sports business insider: The Colorado Rockies drew strong crowds to Coors Field in May despite a historically bad season.
Short version: The Rockies ranked No. 16 among MLB teams in home attendance as of Tuesday with an average crowd size of 27,621 over 27 games played.

Long version: The Rockies are teetering on infamy.
People are still showing up at Coors Field.
Home attendance struggled in April with six crowds under 20,000 at 20th and Blake in LoDo. But things turned around in May. Mostly improved weather and quality opponents brought a buzz to Coors Field. Below is the average home attendance (tickets sold) for each Colorado home series last month.
—Tigers: 21,638
—Padres: 34,445
—Phillies: 23,661
—Yankees: 42,925
The fan uptick coincides with the worst start in modern MLB history.
Colorado became the third-fastest team to reach 50 losses behind only the 1884 Kansas City Unions and 1876 Cincinnati Red Stockings. The Rockies have four eight-game losing streaks. They have lost an MLB-record 22 consecutive series dating back to last season.
Yet the allure of Coors Field remains strong.
