Movie rundown for the weekend through June 12: ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ opens

“How to Train Your Dragon” — (Adventure, PG, 120 minutes). During a time when an ancient threat endangers dragons and Vikings on the isle of Berk, a friendship forms between Hiccup, an inventive Viking, and a Night Fury dragon named Toothless.
“Materialists” — (Comedy, R, 116 minutes). A New York matchmaker is torn between her imperfect ex and her perfect match.
“Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful” — (Music, not rated, 55 minutes). Featuring 13 songs from Miley Cyrus’ “Something Beautiful” album.
“The Unholy Trinity” — (Action, R, 93 minutes). While on a journey to fulfill his estranged father’s last wish before he was executed, Henry goes to the remote town of Trinity to kill the man who framed his father. But he finds himself caught between the town’s sheriff, who is determined to keep order, and a stranger who is determined to destroy everything.

“Bring Her Back” — (Horror, R, 99 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. While at the secluded home of their new foster mother, a brother and sister discover a terrifying ritual.
“DAN DA DANcq: Evil Eye” — (Animation, R, 93 minutes). To try to solve a mystery surrounding the family, Momo and Okarun embark on an adventure to a hot- springs town.
“Dangerous Animals” — (Horror, R, 93 minutes). After being abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer, Zephy must find a way to get off the boat before he feeds her to the sharks.
“Dogma: Resurrected!” 25th Anniversary — (Comedy, R, 130 minutes). Beth, who is struggling with her faith, needs to stop two fallen angels whose only way to reenter heaven is to undo the creation of the universe.
“Final Destination Bloodlines” — (Horror, R, 110 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. After having a recurring nightmare, a college student returns home to get help from the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from a horrific fate.
“Friday the 13th” (1980) — (Horror, R, 95 minutes). Twenty years after Camp Crystal was closed because of unsolved murders, several young counselors try to reopen the camp despite warnings of a death curse by local residents. On Friday the 13th, the curse proves true as one by one each counselor is stalked by a killer.
“Friendship” — (Comedy, R, 100 minutes). Grade: C, Michael Phillips. Two lives are threatened to be ruined when a suburban dad falls for his new neighbor.
“From the World of John Wick: Ballerina” — (Action, R, 125 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. Eve Macarro, an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma, seeks revenge after her father dies.
“The Ritual” — (Horror, not rated, 98 minutes). Two priests must overcome their differences while performing a dangerous exorcism.
“Housefull 5 A” — (Comedy, not rated, 190 minutes). Several imposters aboard a luxury cruise ship compete for the fortune of a deceased billionaire by claiming to be his son.
“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (1989) — Adventure, PG-13, 127 minutes). Indiana Jones must find his missing father, who went missing while searching for the Holy Grail.
“Karate Kid: Legends” — (Action, PG-13, 94 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. After getting unwanted attention from a local karate champion in New York City, kung fu prodigy Li Fong asks Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso for help when he decides to enter the ultimate karate competition.
“The Life of Chuck” — (Drama, R, 110 minutes). A story based on Stephen King’s novella about the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.
“Lilo & Stitch” — (Comedy, PG, 108 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. A lonely Hawaiian girl asks a fugitive alien to help mend her broken family.
“Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” — (Action, PG-13, 169 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. Ethan Hunt learns that our lives are the sum of our many choices when he and the IMF team must find a rogue artificial intelligence before it destroys mankind.
“Pavements” — (Music, not rated, 128 minutes). A music documentary about the band Pavement.
“The Phoenician Scheme” — (Action, PG-13, 101 minutes). Grade: B-, Michael Phillips. After a wealthy businessman appoints his only daughter, a nun, as heir to his estate, they become the target of foreign terrorists and assassins.
“The Ritual” — (Horror, not rated, 98 minutes). Two priests must overcome their differences while performing a dangerous exorcism.
“Sinners” — (Horror, R, 137 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. When twin brothers return to their hometown to leave their troubled lives behind and start over, they find that evil is waiting to welcome them back.
“The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water” (2015) — (Animation, PG, 92 minutes). SpongeBob and his friends try to find the pirate above the sea who stole the secret Krabby Patty formula.
“Thug Life” — (Action, not rated, 120 minutes). Loyalty is challenged after Sakthivel survives an assassination attempt and suspects that Amaran is involved, the person who saved him during a gang war.
“Thunderbolts*” — (Action, PG-13, 126 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. While on a dangerous mission, an unconventional team of antiheroes must confront their dark pasts when they get captured in a death trap.
