Resort set to offer summer skiing and snowboarding in Colorado for low price
Believe it or not, it is possible to ski or snowboard during the summer in Colorado – and not just on small pockets of snow found around the backcountry, either.
Copper Mountain has announced the return of their Woodward Summer Hike Park, which is piled high with 30 feet of snow at last report and features roughly a dozen terrain park features. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome to hone their skills, with daily access tickets costing $25 per day and a $199 season pass available, as well.
The park is set to be open Fridays through Sundays through September 7 if conditions permit, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to the resort, this is the only on-snow summer terrain park to be found statewide.
It is important to note that Copper’s summer terrain park is dubbed a ‘hike park’ for a reason – lifts won’t be spinning.
The park also hosts its summer ‘Rail Jam’ series, which includes two event dates – July 4 and September 5. Competitors aged 10 and up can participate.
