Aurora woman in bed hit by stray bullet
MattGush
An Aurora woman was shot while lying in bed early Thursday morning according to the Aurora Police Department.
The residence, located on the second floor of the building in the 13000 block of East 13th Place, doesn’t appear to be the intended target of the shooter, according to an APD news release.
At approximately 12:48 a.m. a stray bullet hit the 37-year-old woman’s arm, prompting her to call 911. The woman was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial investigation suggests that the stray bullet was fired from an unknown location, and no shell casings were found in the area.
No one is currently in custody relating to the incident, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
