Where good news shines
Former Nuggets first-round pick Jalen Rose will be honored by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as the 2025 Ice Cube Award recipient.
Rose, who played for the Nuggets from 1994-96, earned the award largely through his philanthropy in his hometown of Detroit. He founded the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, a tuition-free public charter high school. He remains as president of the board of directors.
The No. 13 overall pick by Denver in the 1994 NBA draft, Rose is also a volunteer board member for the National Basketball Players Association Foundation and partners with New Era Detroit, a community organization that focuses on community engagement, resource distribution and safety initiatives.
The Ice Cube Impact Award will be presented during the enshrinement ceremony Sept. 6.
