Head-on crash in Jefferson County sends six to the hospital

A head-on crash early Friday morning on Highway 93 in Jefferson County sent six people to the hospital and closed the highway for hours.
At approximately 5:16 a.m. Colorado State Patrol officers arrived at the crash scene, involving a Chevrolet Traverse and a Jeep Compass.
The crash closed the highway in both directions between Highway 72 and 64th Avenue for approximately 2.5 hours before reopening.
Six individuals were transported to a local hospital following the crash, according to CSP.
One driver and a passenger sustained serious bodily injury. The extent of injury to the other individuals sent to the hospital is currently unknown.
CSP is leading a crash investigation and says that it is unclear which vehicle the seriously injured individuals were in at the time of the incident.
