1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Aurora auto-pedestrian crash on Saturday

A man has died and another is hospitalized with serious injuries after a car ran into the two pedestrians in Aurora on Saturday night.
At around 9:41 p.m., Aurora police officers responded to the crash on North Himalaya Road just north of East 64th Ave., according to an Aurora Police Department news release.
Police said three men were walking southbound on the shoulder of Himalaya Road when two of them were struck from behind by a Mazda sedan.
Both men were transported to the hospital, where one died and one remains in serious condition, according to the police.
Authorities said the Mazda driver, a woman, remained on-scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol doesn’t appear involved in the incident, police added.
The crash remains under investigation and marks the 18th traffic-related fatality in Aurora this year, according to police.
