Planning a visit to some of Boulder’s more popular Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) trailheads?
According to the OSMP, open space visitors can now check real-time parking and weather conditions at some of the city’s trailheads before they go.
The City of Boulder has launched a new webpage featuring live video streams at eight Boulder open space areas, including the Chautauqua Meadow, Flagstaff Mountain, Wonderland Lake and trailheads south of the city.
Twelve live video streams are available to view in total.
“These camera feeds offer visitors a convenient way to ‘know before they go’ helping them better plan their visits, avoid crowded areas and consider alternate transportation options,” the City said in a statement Thursday. “Community members can also enjoy real-time views of Boulder’s open space, including a new camera at the Chautauqua Ranger Cottage capturing the Boulder Flatirons.”
According to the City, trailhead camera locations were selected based on available infrastructure.
OSMP plans to install additional cameras at other trailheads, where feasible, in the coming months.
“Camera feeds are provided as a courtesy and may be suspended or interrupted at any time due to weather, technical issues or operational priorities, with service restored as staff resources allow,” the City said.
OSMP encourages all visitors to recreate responsibly, whether or not there is a camera on them.
