Police arrested a woman on Thursday in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in south Denver the day before.
Samantha Shults, 56, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with a stabbing in the 8400 block of East Hampden Avenue in the early hours of Wednesday that left a man dead, according to a news release from the Denver Police Department.
The man and woman lived together and there was an argument that led to the homicide, police said.
Police first responded to a report of a stabbing just before 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, finding the man suffering from the stab wound upon arrival, according to the release. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
The final determination of charges against Shults will be made by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
